You need the center of that preform wall hot enough to blow, but you can’t afford to scorch the outside. It’s a tightrope walk. That’s exactly why we built our replacement lamps. We wanted to stop the surface burn and actually get the heat deep inside. The trick to penetration Most standard IR lamps just dump all their energy onto the outer skin. It’s a waste. We switched things up with a specific shortwave halogen setup. Instead of hitting a wall at the surface, the radiation slips right through the PET and hits the core. We’ve tuned the wattage and voltage to fit your machine’s original footprint, so you can keep your cycle speeds high without ruining the plastic. No headaches during install We used high-purity quartz because these things go through a beating with constant thermal cycling. As for the fit? It’s a direct swap. Whether you use R7s or SK15 connectors, they just slide in. No rewiring the oven. No messing with the lamp holders. We also tightened the tolerances on the tube length. They seat firmly in the clips, which means they won’t rattle themselves to death when the line is screaming at full speed. A few things to keep in mind Here’s the catch: more penetration power means more intense heat. If you crank the wattage to shave a few seconds off your cycle, keep a close eye on your cooling blowers. If your airflow is clogged or just too weak, the oven gets too hot. That’s how you end up with deformed preforms or lamps that burn out way too early. And please, keep your reflectors clean. A tiny bit of carbon buildup can kill your efficiency, no matter how good the lamp is. We usually suggest a full swap and a good polish of the reflectors every 5,000 to 8,000 hours. It’s the only way to keep your heat profile steady.
